The trunk lid on my 1800 was getting harder to close. A good slam was needed. I assumed that there was a shift in the latch mechanism through the years and I was getting ready to reshim. After giving it some thought, I decided to grease the latch first. Even used a Q-tip to get the grease way inside the latch.
It worked!! The trunk lid closes much better now.
