A/C Conversion Experience

Hi,

Saw web site. Interested in buying 1800 if great quality/great price comes around. Dad has 71 1800E, so if I'm patient I will get it. Anyway, heard there was a Dallas/FW Volvo club forming, know anything about it?

Re Volvo 1800 AC, the 71 was just converted and seems to cool about as good. Electric fan in front, water "slickner" added to radiator, and slightly backed-off timing help run cooler. Also replacing thermostat with Volvo (has cutoff part) made big difference.

Was in Sweden and have been to the yearly Volvo P1800 Klubben meet, will share info if curious...

Regards,

Carl

Carl -

Thanks for the info on the air conditioning conversion. Good to hear that it works. Two questions: What kind of refrigerant does it use now, and what's "water 'slickner'?"

I haven't heard anything about a local Volvo club yet. Would be nice. I've seen some info about the Swedish club on the web somewhere, but can't remember the site. If you have any info or photos you'd like to put on my page, fire away.

-Glenn.
