Hey do you know where I can pick up a set of these without robbing Fort Knox? Thanx. Mike

Mike - If you mean the steel brake lines, they will cost you, in money or in labor. I have made brake pipes myself with about $60 worth of tools -- a good set of double-flaring tools and a couple of small pipe benders. Straight pipes in varying lengths are available at auto supply shops. If you can find them with the correct fittings, you can buy the approximate sizes you need and bend to fit using the originals as a guide.

Some of the brake pipes might still be available from Volvo. If so, they will have the correct fittings and length, but likely you will still have to bend them yourself. They'll cost twice as much as the regular auto supply kind. Call Boston Volvo (1-800-336-2355) to see about this option. Ask for John Sharisky.

If you mean the hoses that connect the lines to the front disks and the rear axle, I would stick with Boston Volvo or IPD (1-800-444-6473) on these. It is possible to have them made up at a hydraulic supply shop, but they probably will not have the correct fittings on hand, and they will want to cut and braze your old fittings onto new ones. This may or may not work, and will cost you almost as much as new hoses. -Glenn.
